Elaine Williamson is a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia and a long-time instructor at the UBC Sauder School of Business. Her doctoral research focuses on Indigenous tourism on Haida Gwaii, with attention to visitor responsibility, trust, authenticity, and Indigenous-led business practice.
Research, teaching, and community work
My work sits at the intersection of Indigenous tourism, business education, and community-based research. I am interested in how visitors understand authenticity, trust, responsibility, and cultural authority in Indigenous tourism settings.
Alongside my doctoral research, I teach business and marketing at UBC and have worked for many years in nonprofit leadership, board governance, fundraising, mentorship, and community service.
